Adjusting your nose pads
If your frame has nose pads, and not fixed plastic nose rests, you can adjust the way your nose pads fit by following these instructions:
- Grip the glasses firmly
- With your thumb and forefinger hold the nose pad
- You can then move the nose pad slightly in or out by applying light pressure
- Repeat this on the other nose pad
- Try the glasses on to check the adjustment
- Repeat this process until you are happy with the fit of the glasses.
Adjusting the arms of your frames
If you find that your glasses are slipping down your nose or the arms are pinching behind your ear you can adjust the way that the arms of your glasses fit, by following these instructions:
- Put on the glasses and mark on the arm where you need the bend to start
- Take off the glasses and heat the arm at the current bend point with a hairdryer or hot water for 20-30 seconds. Take care not to burn yourself!
- With your thumb and forefinger apply gentle pressure to straighten out the original bend of the arm.
- Reheat the arm again for another 20-30 seconds.
- Using your thumb and forefinger apply pressure to make a smooth curve in the arm at the point you require the new bend to be.
- Try the glasses on for fit. Repeat the process until you are happy with the fit of the glasses.
