1. Frame
Picking the perfect pair of glasses is often the most time consuming part of the order process. If you love your current glasses why not try our Reglaze service where we can fit new prescription lenses into your existing frame! However, if you are on the lookout for something new there are certain factors that you will want to consider.
Frame Shape
It is important to consider how the shape of the frame will compliment your features and not emphasise any aspects you don't like. Choosing the best frame for your face is simple with our face shape guide. When choosing a frame it is also important to consider if the shape of the frame will be suitable for the lens type that you wish to have fitted into the glasses. For example, Varifocal Glasses will require a frame with a larger lens depth that does not cut off any part of the focal points. You can use our shape filter to display all of the frames that you wish to view.
Frame Size
FRAME SIZE Will the frame fit? This is often one of the main concerns when buying glasses online. You need your frame to fit snug, but comfortably on your face. If a frame is too large it may slip down your nose and too narrow may pinch at your temples. All frames come with their measurement printed on the inside of the arm. If you have an old pair of glasses you will be able to use the frame measurements in our fit finder to filter all of the frames of the same size.
Frame Colour
The colour of a frame can dramatically change the way that the glasses look. It is important to consider the style and look that you are hoping to achieve with your new eyewear when deciding on the colour. Most of the frames we offer at DirectSight come in a range of colour options, you can use our filters to shop by colour.
2. Lens
Customising your lenses is a crucial part of the order process to ensure that the glasses are functional for their intended use. Your optician will have advised if you require single vision or multifocal lenses.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT LENS
You have the option to add protective coatings to enhance your visual clarity and improve the longevity of your lenses. Anti-Scratch, Anti-Reflective, UV400 and Blue Light Blocking are just a few of the options available. If you are looking for sunglasses then there are tints and polarised lens options as well as Transition lens. If you have a strong prescription you may wish to consider high index lenses.
3. Prescription
Once you have chosen your frame, selected how you will be using the glasses and customised the lenses, it will be time to add your prescription details.
ADDING YOUR PRESCRIPTION
There are three options of how you can send the details to us; Upload a photo or pdf of your prescription with the order, place the order without the details and email them to us at your convenience or enter the details yourself online. Glasses prescriptions can appear rather confusing so we do recommend sending the details to us so that a member of our experienced team can ensure the correct values are applied to your order.
4. Payment
Once you are happy with how you have customised the glasses and have double checked the details to ensure you are happy with the frame, lenses and coatings, you can proceed to the secure DirectSight checkout. Then all you need to do is sit back and wait for your new glasses to arrive within the next 7-14 working days.
