Limited Edition 3D Katy Perry Glasses Go Global
Inspirational documentaries can be found just about anywhere these days. Everyone likes a real life tale of a struggle to overcome adversity and documentaries about the struggles of famous people are often the most fascinating of all. However, most celebrities don’t tend to star in inspirational documentaries about themselves but that is exactly what pop star Katy Perry has done.
Limited-edition 3D glasses from Katy Perry
Perry, (real name Katheryn Hudson) is this summer the star and producer of Katy Perry: Part of Me, a documentary concert film named after one of her recent songs which charts her rise to stardom, with the aim of inspiring other young girls to chase their dreams, and naturally, it’s in 3D.
But not only has Perry done a lot of work in front of the camera and behind the scenes for the project, she’s also found the time to help design and promote a special pair of limited-edition 3D glasses that her biggest fans can use to watch her film in cinemas with.
Perry has been promoting the film and the predictably pink heart-shaped 3D glasses on the US talk show circuit, including appearances on Ellen and Jay Leno. The 3D glasses are available on a first come first served basis in selected cinemas around the world.
RealD, the company behind the 3D technology for the film, said that giving fans a 3D look inside the world of Katy Perry is a memorable experience, made all the more special with the exclusive, limited edition keepsake 3D glasses.

In the film, Perry documents her rise from a religious upbringing in California, a short-lived gospel singing career, to being an international pop music star known for her often raunchy lyrics and energetic performances. There is plenty of ‘behind the scene’ footage and backstage access during her last world tour, in between performances of her most memorable songs, giving fans a glimpse of what being a world-famous pop star entails.
There are also some difficult issues from Perry’s personal life which are covered, including her divorce from British comedian Russell Brand, to whom Perry was married to for two years. Perry admitted that it was difficult for her to watch this period back again when editing the film, but director Dan Cutforth said that there had never been any discussion of removing the more emotional scenes from the film.
There are also several cameo appearances in the film by some of the other biggest names in pop music, including Adele, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Jessie J. Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D is in cinemas now.
