Our 5 Favourite Spectacled Superheroes
At Direct Sight, we’re pretty excited about the new Spiderman film release. As it turns out, Peter Parker looks pretty good in his geeky glasses, which got us thinking about other characters with super powers who wear spectacles...
1. At number 1, it has to be Superman (a.k.a. Clark Kent). As the quiet office nerd, Clark looks great in his favourite geeky frames. From the early days of the Christopher Reeve retro style, to the Tom Welling ‘Smallville’ update, we’re loving the Superman style. And with his secret superpowers, it’s no surprise that geeky retro frames are right in fashion. Try these DS Collection A170 frames to replicate the look.
2. Next, it has to be Wonder Woman (a.k.a. Diana Prince). Like Clark, Diana loves a retro style for the office as a cover for her secret side. Normally oversized with a round lens shape, she is the height of superhero feminine cool. The JK London Dalston women's glasses are a great start for getting the look.
3. The Amazing Spiderman (a.k.a. Peter Parker) is the ultimate in awkward spectacled style. However, with Andrew Garfield playing the latest version of the superhero, glasses just got cool. Take inspiration from his oversized rectangular frames with these GA901 Giorgio Armani glasses.
4. Cyclops from X-Men may be defined by his eyesight troubles but his super laser eyes are always hidden behind a pair of flash frames. With a wraparound frame and tinted lenses, the Adidas Adizero Temple L A185 will leave you looking, and feeling, like a superhero.
5. Last but not least, it has to be Harry Potter. He may not be a comic book superhero but his wizarding skills and magic spells make him the perfect face of school boy super powers. The classic round shape is replicated in the DS Collection U26 frames for a fun update on the Potter style.
