Would You Pay £300 to Try on a Dress?
The luxury designer brand, Vera Wang, has recently announced it will begin charging customers to try on dresses. In Shanghai, customers will now have to pay 3,000 Yuan (around £320) for a 90-minute slot to try on the dresses. If they don’t make a purchase, they will not be refunded. This has been introduced in an attempt to reduce fraud and damage to the dresses (not surprising considering they can cost up to £7000!). It is hoped that anyone willing (and able) to pay the try-on fee will be a serious buyer planning to make a purchase.
