Can I buy glasses online with an expired prescription?

You can only purchase glasses online from Directsight with a valid prescription. Your optician will issue you with a prescription after your eyetest if you require glasses to correct your vision. Usually the prescription will be valid for 2 years, unless specified otherwise by your optician. If your prescription has expired, you will need to visit your optician for an eyestes to obtain your current prescription requirements.

What is the maximum prescription glasses can have?

At Directsight we cater for prescriptions up to +/-8 sphere and +/-4 cylinder. If your prescription is outside of this range, don't worry! we may still be able to provide you with prescription glasses.

There is a charge of £30 for lenses to be specially made above +/-8 sphere and +/-4 cylinder. If your prescription is out of range, please contact our customer service team to discuss the most suitable frame and lens options to suit your requirements.

Where can I buy prescription glasses online at the best price?

What are the best glasses frames for very thick lenses?

If you have a very strong prescription we recommend selecting a high index lens that will reduce the thickness and the weight of the lenses. A rectangular in acetate or plastic material, will help mask the thickness of the lens. Round frames are also good because they tend to have a smaller lens width. The main thing to remember is that the wider the frame the more the lens will stick out and be more noticeable.

How do I order glasses with my prescription?
